A Night to Shine volunteer is someone who says "yes" to being the hands and feet of Jesus for one unforgettable evening. Whether you're cheering on the red carpet, serving dinner with a smile, or dancing the night away as a Buddy, you are part of something so much bigger than yourself.
Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God's love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Every honored guest deserves to know they are loved, valued, and wonderfully made—and you get to be part of delivering that message.

Three Ways to Serve
No matter how much time you have, there's a place for you. Choose one, two, or all three!
Setup
Arrive early and help transform the venue into a prom wonderland! Hang decorations, arrange tables, set up the red carpet, prepare food stations, and help create the atmosphere of a lifetime. There is something truly special about watching an ordinary space become extraordinary for God's purpose.
During the Event
This is where the magic happens! Serve as a Buddy walking the red carpet with a guest, help with check-in, serve food, do hair and makeup, take photos, or keep the tech running. Whatever your role, you will witness pure, unbridled joy—and it will fill your heart in ways you never imagined.
Teardown
Stay after the final dance to help pack up and restore the venue. Teardown is fast, fun, and a wonderful time to reflect on the evening with fellow volunteers. Many hands make light work, and your help means the host church is ready for their next day of ministry.
When you register, you can choose to help with setup only, the event only, teardown only, or any combination—including the full experience from start to finish!

This is what it looks like when the body of Christ comes together to love extravagantly.

Find Your Perfect Role
We have a variety of volunteer positions to match your gifts, talents, and interests. Every role is essential to creating this incredible night!
Buddy
This is the heart of Night to Shine! As a Buddy, you'll be paired one-on-one with an honored guest for the entire evening. You'll walk the red carpet together, share dinner, hit the dance floor, and celebrate as they're crowned king or queen of the prom. Many Buddies say this is the most meaningful night of their year!
Setup / Teardown
Be part of the amazing transformation! Help turn our venue into a spectacular prom setting. From hanging decorations to arranging tables and setting up the red carpet, your hands help create the magic before the doors even open. Teardown volunteers help us wrap up the evening and leave the venue ready for the next day.
Food Service
Help serve a delicious prom dinner to our honored guests! Food Service volunteers assist with meal preparation, plating, serving, and ensuring every guest feels like royalty at their dinner table. No culinary experience needed—just a servant's heart and a smile!
Decoration
Bring the sparkle and wonder to life! Decoration volunteers transform our venue into a breathtaking prom paradise with lights, centerpieces, backdrops, and all the glitz and glamour our guests deserve. If you have a creative eye, this role is perfect for you!
Photography
Capture the joy! Event photographers and videographers document the incredible moments throughout the evening—red carpet arrivals, dance floor celebrations, crowning ceremonies, and all the smiles in between. Your photos and videos become cherished memories for our guests and their families.
Check-In / Welcome
You're the very first friendly face our guests and volunteers see! Check-In and Welcome volunteers greet everyone with warmth and enthusiasm, help with registration, hand out name badges, and set the tone for an incredible night. Your energy at the door kicks off the celebration!
Hair & Makeup
Help our honored guests look and feel absolutely stunning! Hair and Makeup volunteers style hair, apply makeup, paint nails, and help guests get red-carpet ready. Watching their faces light up in the mirror is an unforgettable experience. Professional skills welcome but not required!
Event Coordinator
Help keep the magic running smoothly behind the scenes! Event Coordinators assist with logistics, timing, and making sure every part of the evening flows seamlessly. This role is great for natural leaders and organizers who love making sure everything comes together perfectly.
Technology
Keep the lights, sound, and screens running! Technology volunteers manage the audio/visual equipment, music, lighting effects, and any other tech that makes the evening spectacular. If you're comfortable with AV gear or enjoy working behind the scenes, this is your role!
Limo
Manage limo ride reservations and logistics
Don't see a fit? No worries! Select "Other" when you register and tell us about your skills and interests. We'll find the perfect spot for you—there is truly a place for everyone at Night to Shine.
A note about background checks: The Tim Tebow Foundation requires background checks for all volunteers age 18 and older. This helps ensure Night to Shine is a safe and joyful experience for every guest. After you register, we'll send you simple instructions to complete yours.
